Demonstrative Exhibits
The Data Company can simplify the process for turning your key arguments into demonstrative exhibits. Maps, drawings, sketches, charts or other visual aids that explain complex issues are some examples of when a demonstrative exhibit might be needed.

Here are some tips for developing a few graphic concepts:
Develop a chronology by listing items by date in a spreadsheet. You can sort by date from time to time to re-order new entries. Eventually, we can arrange graphically selected items from this worksheet to tell a story.
As you develop your key concepts, think about what picture will translate the abstract concept into a tangible exhibit, making it more easily understood and memorable.
Engage in one of our creative consultants early on in your case. Discovery cut-off dates eliminate the opportunity to ask for photographs, maps, schematics and drawings that are not commonly part of a discovery submission.
Import pictures, thoughts and charts into PowerPoint. This program helps you arrange your presentation and allows you to view the sequence of images in a logical fashion.

Some messages are best presented in large format and left standing for constant review, reminding fact-finders of key points every time they look at it. Sometimes, a simple board or two is all it takes to tell the story.

Our graphic professionals can quickly and easily build an exhibit from your facts, incorporate your comments and refinements, and then produce it on a board of almost any size.

Our society is engaged by, and believes story lines. Crafting your key message into a story is a proven method for making your arguments even more compelling.

The backbone of a story is a chronological list of events. The jury will want to know what happened and when. What affected the outcome? Who are the key players? What are their relationships?

Graphic experts at The Data Company have created a multitude of chronologies, timelines and other exhibits that relate the issues in court to everyday life.

Control of your visual message is critical. Studies have shown that when jurors feel they don’t have all of the facts to understand a story, they may fill in the blanks with their own experiences — a very dangerous situation for you as the story-teller. The Data Company can assist you in building exhibits that are concise and effective.

Medical Illustrations

Scientific illustrations in the medical field are essential if the jury is to understand biology, medical procedures, injuries and anomalies to the human body. Testifying experts, which are usually doctors, use very specific language when describing human anatomy, conditions, and medical procedures.

Showing illustrations of the issue at hand helps the jury to understand, remember and relate to testimony. Our graphic artists can create medically accurate illustrations that represent expert testimony and opinions. Working under the supervision of the expert, the collaboration can assist him or her in refining their message for the decision-makers.
